Stocks and Resume

Today we all went to www. stocksquest.com. The web site it like a game you get to buy stuff and learn how to invest money. Stocksquset is important to save money and invest. This is some stuff that I got at my stocksqest, Burger king and foot locker. Friday we made a resume. A resume is if you want a to apply for a job. A resume tells about your experiences in working or other useful activities.

Investing and Resume

Today and Friday we worked on making a Stockquest. We also created our resume on Friday. Today we just spent some time on Stockquest. We had to find some products that we use on a daily basses and find their parent company. The stockquest is a web site where you can learn how to invest. On the web site you can buy stuff and sell stuff. The point of stockquest is to help us understand how to learn how to invest. It is not real money but it is reflecting real stocks. On Friday we mainly worked on our resume. A resume is something you are going to need when you go to apply for a job. It will help the employer know more about you and your experience.

..:::UPDATES for 8/24/09 till now:::..

On the 24th we did a lot of work related things. We started taking about Resumes. Everybody constructed a resume. The resume included such things as our name, address, phone number,email and so on. We also included our work experience if any, education, and so on. We were also introduced to an educational game from the website; Stockquest.com. This game is based on stocks. It gives you the opportunity of buying and selling stocks with imaginary money. It's interesting to see how your investment profit you money as well as leave you on debt. This game is useful for any body that wants to start buying stocks because you could practice investing and eventually be successful at real life investments.

Today, we continued taking about the stocks. We did a list of 10 everyday items and look for their parent company just because not all company are their self owners. With that list we incorporated it into buying the rest of the stocks in our game.

Resumes and Stocks

Since Friday 24, 2009 we learned how to make our resumes. Resumes are really useful when applying for a job. Resumes are really just a piece of paper that explains really about
you and what you have done though out your life. We also, learn how to use a website that goes by www.stocksquest.com. This website is basically to learn how to invest using false money.On this website we can purchase companies such as your favorite food or clothing stores. For example,hollister,h&m,aeropastale,checkers,and Mcdonalds. I bought AT&T which is a phone company. This website is actually fun except when you lose your money. Its also really helpful towards life.

Week Four- Investing in the Stock Market!

Today we continued our discussion about the stock market and what it means to invest which started last Friday (July 24th). Using the StockQuest program online we began learning about what it takes to purchase stocks with the correct thought process. We discussed such questions as what is a stock, how does one purchase a stock, and how does one know when to purchase or sell a stock. As the mentor of this group, I feel it is very important that the interns engage in this sort of activity because it should give each of them an idea of how individuals in society can impact the over all economic structure of the country.

Week Two -Research/Scripts

Group 1- (Jennifer &Jonathan)
Our Topic was "How to Build a Computer". We started defining all the parts from the computer first. We find out that a ram stores the memory of the computer and can cost about 20 dollars. Also we learned that a CPU is the processor of the computer. Then we created the introduction that we going to have in the video. We looked up a picture for all the parts because we are going to include them in our video. We also created the conclusion. Through out the whole script we also translated everything into Spanish because it would be useful for parents that don't speak English.

In this video it shows the parts of a computer in depth. We would like it to be an example of how we want our to look like.
